Rocket Wood Theme

The folks over at WP Crown have created a lovely theme called Rocket Wood.  It’s a very attractive and dynamic theme with a robust home/landing page that pulls together a lot of elements to immediately catch the fickle eye of visitors.  While some might find this approach a bit too busy, it might be just the thing for sites that feature a large amount of deep content that they want to preview on their home page.

The top of the page features a large image slider powered by the popular jQuery Nivo slider. It boast manual or automatic advancement with some transition effects. If you’re familiar with Nivo, you can do a lot of neat things to build upon this.

Below the slide, the home page offers the ability to feature a wide variety of preview of deeper pages. Site builders can use these to lure visitors into products, about us, contact and just about anything they want to give some screen real estate to.  A bottom area of the page serves as a sort of “fat footer” where Latest works in various categories can be highlighted, offering an excellent way to keep home page content fresh and engaging.   Social media linking for just about every social network available are integrated as well in a tasteful, understated manner.

The features don’t stop with the home page, however. Rocket Wood also fantastically crafted interior pages to choose from as well:

• Generic interior pages in full width, as well as sidebar mode.
• Dedicated Testimonial page which automatically formats client/customer endorsements
• Portfolio template for displaying your work or products in an attractive grid.
• Blog template that fits seamlessly into the site design as well as offering an alternative sidebar
• A Price table which can be used for any sort of side-by-side feature comparison needs

Rounding things out are a selection of short codes for users that want to dabble with their own enriched features.
